My educational history began at Augsburg College, where I obtained a BA in Psychology. From there, realizing that I also wanted to specialize in addiction I obtained an additional degree from the University of Minnesota in Addiction Counseling. After working for a few years as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor I went on to obtain my Masters degree at the University of St. Thomas and the College of St. Catherine, in their clinical social work program. Prior to my current role as an individual therapist, I practiced psychotherapy at the U of M Medical Center. This allowed me to learn more deeply about treating and identifying dual disorders. Working in acute care & inpatient psychiatric treatment provided a strong foundation to conduct assessments for mental health, substance abuse and family dynamics.
