Julia Furness, Psychotherapist Intern
I understand that it can be difficult to start therapy because you are sharing personal things with someone you have never met. There may be some feelings of anxiousness and nervousness and that is completely understandable. Everyone’s story is special and I admire that, that is why I like to make your therapy process comfortable, safe, and having you leave feeling heard and not alone. What I bring to the therapeutic relationship is openness, empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental presence. My approach to therapy is using past experience, education, sense of humor, and collaboration to help build upon strengths. Through collaboration I feel this allows the client to be the expert in their journey which gives them the capabilities of growing strongly both personally and interpersonally.
