As a therapist, I take a person-centered approach to therapy and work with individuals to help them gain awareness and understanding of their mental health, while helping them identify their strengths and values. I work to meet individuals where they are and I believe that openness, honesty, trust, and respect are foundational in a therapeutic relationship.
I am committed to helping individuals move towards improving their mental health and overall well-being by utilizing a holistic approach that focuses on physical, emotional, and spiritual health. I understand that engaging in therapy takes a tremendous amount of strength and vulnerability and I work to provide an environment that is free from judgment and allows for individuals to feel safe, valued, and respected.
In my practice, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help challenge distorted and unhealthy patterns of thinking and behavior. I also incorporate acceptance and commitment therapy to help individuals learn mindfulness practices and approach their thoughts and emotions with curiosity rather than judgment while identifying and gaining an understanding of their values and what is most important to them.
I am passionate and dedicated to providing empathy, compassion, and accountability to support you in finding meaningful change and a sense of true belonging and self-worth.
I specialize in co-occurring disorders, grief/loss, guilt and shame, domestic abuse, depression, and anxiety. I earned my master’s degree in clinical counseling from Crown College in Saint Bonifacius, MN and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
