In this rapidly evolving and changing environment regarding COVID-19, here at BHC we are working on making wise, caring and thoughtful choices as information comes available to us. We are doing this by taking into consideration the health and wellbeing of the communities, as well as the health of our BHC staff. 💚 If you are sick or experiencing any sign of illness, please do not come to your appointment and call your therapist to reschedule. Thank you for your assistance as we work through this as a community.

During times like this, the BHC mission stands stronger than ever. We believe that we are in this together and support one another. We will continue to be open and serve the community with the following adjustments.

All BHC groups are cancelled until further notice.

Clients will have the option of waiting in their vehicles until their session is to begin, by following the process listed below:

Once the client has arrived for their session, they will text their therapist to let them know that they have arrived and waiting in their vehicle.

The therapist will then text the client back when the therapist is ready for the client’s session to begin, based on the client’s start time.

Once the client receives the text from their therapist that the therapist is ready for them, the client can come into the building and head directly into their therapist’s office.

BHC staff will be avoiding physical contact (i.e. handshakes, high fives and fist bumps). Clients and Therapists will wash their hands prior to session. Therapists will clean common areas in their office after each session which includes door handles and frequently touched surfaces.

If you are sick or if you have symptoms, please stay home.

In addition, we will be offering the option of telehealth in the coming days. You will need to check your insurance benefits to ensure your plan allows.

Telehealth is an excellent way to keep us connected during this time. We are committed to providing a space where you feel comfortable, so we can continue to provide you the support that you are custom to.

Below are some FAQ’s on Telehealth, to help provide some additional answers to questions you might have.

Please feel free to reach out to us directly at 763-291-5505 on any questions you might have on Telehealth services.

Thank you again for allowing BHC to be that trusted mental health resource in your community.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth provides a HIPAA compliant platform for us to meet virtually, like FaceTime or Skype.

How does it work?

And what kind of device can I use?

About five minutes before the appointment, your therapist will send you a link to the meeting. You simply click on the link from any device (iPad, computer, smart phone). You can either download the Zoom app on your phone, or use the link on your computer.

Is it HIPAA Compliant?

Yes, We use a platform called ZOOM that meets all the HIPAA requirements to protect your confidentiality, and does not store any information nor require any protected health information.

Will my insurance cover it?

You will want to check your insurance benefits to ensure coverage. You can do this by calling the number on the back of your insurance card. Most insurance plans do cover this option. MN legislature requires insurance companies to cover Telehealth.

Can I still do family or couples counseling?

Yes. They would either join you with the same device, or if they are not with you, we will send them a different meeting invite for their own screen.

Is the session recorded?

No. Telehealth appointments are not recorded and all strictly confidential.

What are the telehealth cancellation fees?

Telehealth cancellation fees are the same as in-person: cancellations with less than 24-hour notice will be charged the $100.00 fee.
