Starting therapy can be difficult, and not only that, stressful, because you are sharing personal things with someone you have never met. There may be some feelings of anxiousness, nervousness, and discomfort which are completely understandable. Everyone’s story is special and unique and I admire that, that is why I like to make your therapy process comfortable, safe, and leaving you feeling heard and not alone. What I bring to the therapeutic relationship is openness, empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental presence. My approach to therapy is using past experience, education, sense of humor, and collaboration to help build upon strengths. Through collaboration I feel this allows the client to be the expert in their journey which gives them the capabilities of growing strongly both personally and interpersonally. While working under the family systems based approaches, modalities for treatment may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused therapy, Strategic Therapy, Emotions Focused therapy, play therapy, and strengths based interventions.
