Owning your story and loving yourself through that process is the bravest thing you will ever do (Brené Brown, paraphrased), and I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey of growth and self-discovery. You do not need to pretend to be okay with me – I can be your safe space to process and heal from the challenges life has thrown at you. I can help you leverage your unique experiences and strengths to embrace life with purpose and acceptance.
I approach therapy with the mindset that my clients already have the strength and insight to overcome any challenge by embracing their inner confidence, self-compassion, and authenticity. My goal is to help my clients create positive relationships with themselves and others and to empower them to achieve meaningful change through empathy, intentionality, and facing their truths head on.
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and theories to meet my clients where they need it most. Sessions with me typically contain a blend of talk therapy to process strong emotions, thought-provoking questions to build insight and self-reflection, and learning and practicing tangible coping skills. Depending on my client’s challenges and interests, I also incorporate creativity, narration (verbal or written), role-play “rehearsals” to practice building confidence, and body movement.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Beloit College and my master’s degree in social work from Boise State University. I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) with the Minnesota Board of Social Work, and I am currently working under supervision to earn my independent clinical license (LICSW).
